Discover how to recover your passcode

If you forget the passcode on your iPhone or iPad, or you get a message that says your iPhone or iPad is disabled this is what you must do.

If you input the wrong passcode too many times, you will get a message that will alert you that your device has been disabled.

If you can’t remember your passcode, you will have to erase your device, this will delete your data and settings including the passcode.

If the data on your device is backup, this is good news because you will be able to restore your data and settings after restoring your device. On the other hand, if you’ve never backed up the data on your device and you forget your passcode, you won’t be able to save the data on your device.

Follow the steps below to remove the passcode.

  • You will need a computer to complete the steps below
  • Learn how to remove the passcode on iPhone X or later, iPhone SE 2nd generation iPhone 8, and iPhone 8 plus.
  • Ensure that your phone is not connected to your computer
  • And one of the volume buttons must be pressed and held together until the power of sliders appear.
  • Drag The Slider to turn off your phone, then connect your phone to your computer while holding the side button.
  • Keep Holding the side button until you see the recovery mode screen.

  • Press and hold the top button until the power off slider appears
  • Drag the Slider to turn off your iPod Touch
  • Connect your iPod Touch to your computer whilst holding down the home button
  • Keep Holding the home button until you see the recovery mode screen appears

How to restore your iPod Touch

  • Locate your iPod Touch on your computer
  • You will have the option to restore or update
  • Choose to restore
  • The Finder or iTunes will download the software for your iPod Touch
  • If you wait for more than 15 minutes your iPod Touch will exit recovery mode, then you will have to select your iPod Touch model above and repeat this process to remove your passcode.
