The 8-core neural engine which is known as the next generation completes up to 5 trillion operations per seconds for major updates for all apps and features that uses AR and machine learning. The dual lens camera system found in XS was not included in the XR but rather a single lens rear camera. An advanced software was installed to make it as powerful as a dual lens on the XS models.

It has an F/1.8 12 megapixel wide – angle lens with a 32 percent bigger sensor which produces a sharper, more detail pictures in low light, this is the same wide – angle camera used in XS.

IPhone XR Review – The camera supports:

A portrait mode was enabled via a software, this was limited to dual lens cameras in the past. You can take a DSLR quality images with an awful background that focuses the image on the subject of the photo with a portrait mode.

Other features that were introduced are advanced bokeh and depth control, this automatically adjusts the depth of field of a photo before it’s captured. In cases of poor lighting conditions the smart HDR produces more detail that results in rich colourful pictures.

The features found in the more expensive iPhone XS are enable at the front of the 7 – megapixel true depth camera.

iPhone XR Review

Prior to launching the iPhone XR, review units were provided by Apple to members of the media. The result was amazing. The reviewers believe that most people will want to own this phone most especially due to:

●        Low price tag

●        Excellent LCD display

●        Bright colours

●        iPhone XS level’s performance

Design

It’s similar to the 5.8 inch iPhone XS but has a 6.1 inch display. A mid size phone that sits between the iPhone XS and the 6.5 – inch XS max. It’s smaller than the iPhone 8 which it replaces but has a bigger screen. It measures:

●        150.9mm tall

●        75.7mm wide

●        8.3mm thick

●        Weights 194 grams

There’s a notch at the front of the phone that houses the True Depth, camera system, the speakers and the ambient light sensor. The case was designed to show off the bright colours of the device. The case was released in October, two months after the launching of the phone. It comes with a glass body in six colours plus a matching 7000 series frame. The frame is lighter and less expensive than the stainless-steel frame of the XS. The glass back phones could easily crack or break if drop on the floor especially therefore be careful.

Water and Dust Resistance

It’s IP67 water and dust resistance in other words, it’s immune from dust and will survive immersion in water of up to one metre (3.3 feet) deep for 30 minutes in laboratory conditions. Even though the phone has a high-level resistance to splashes, rain and accidental exposure to water, intentional exposure must be avoided at all cost. Apple’s warranty does not cover water damage to IOS devices so be careful when around liquids.

Display

The LCD features several technological advancements which makes it larger than ever and regarded it as the most advanced LCD in a smart phone. Apple says there were new innovations for pixel antialiasing and pixel masking to extend the display to the edges of the device. LEDs that fit into smaller spaces than ever before were used plus a new backlight design to enlarge display and reach the corners of the phone.

Haptic Touch

The haptic touch option replaced the 3D touch feature, the company says this is similar to the haptic track pad in the MacBook Pro. The 3D touch is available throughout the IOS 12 operating system and is often used to display more information through a force press gesture. This feature is not available via the haptic touch, but the haptic touch provides feedback when pressing the camera icon forcefully on the lock screen

There’s a rumour that the 3D touch will be eliminated on future handsets and most likely be replaced by the haptic touch option in the iPhone XR. Apple might also have a plan to add more features to the haptic touch.

A12 Bionic Processor

This bionic processor can harness all six cores at once when a power boost is required. Functionalities are divided across the core through a new controller for the best performance and battery life. The A12 bionic produces faster detection of AR surfaces for the rear camera, better AR experiences for the front camera as well, immersive 3D gaming and faster face ID.

Face ID and True Depth Camera System

The introduction of the iPhone X in 2017 came with it the face ID. This is the biometric verification system used in the iPhone XR. It features a notch housing true depth camera system that enables face ID.

●        Face ID is the same thing as touch ID excepts:

●        It uses a facial scan instead of a finger print.

●        It’s the same as iPhone X with better performance.

●        Face ID can detect your face and unlock your device faster because of the new A12 bionic chip and neutral engine improvements.

●        Face ID is used across the IOS operating system for tasks such as unlocking the phone.

●        It gives access to third party passcode protected apps.

The True Depth, camera has a set of sensors which the face ID works through. If you want to create a facial scan, a Dot projects more than 30,000 invincible infrared dots onto your face and then read by an infrared camera. The depth map on your face is repaid to the A12 bionic processor and then transformed into a mathematical model, the phone uses this to ensure you’re trying to access your phone.

Face ID has no problem functioning to the ultimate in dark or dim light areas because of the infrared and a built in floor illuminator. They provide adequate light to the facial scan, face ID works with:

●        Hats

●        Beards

●        Glasses

●        Shades

●        Scarves

●        Make up

●        And all other accessories

Face ID and Security Privacy

Face ID cannot be fooled by a photo mask or other facial imitation because of a detailed 3D facial scan. Face ID allows you to unlock your device through an “Attention Aware” security feature, your device will unlock only when you look in the direction of your phone with your eyes open. This feature will work when:

●        Asleep.

●        Unconscious.

●        Eyes closed.

●        Look away from your phone.

You’re able to turn off the attention aware just in case you’re unable to focus on the phone’s screen. Most prefer to turn it on because of added security. The Attention Aware feature knows when you’re looking at your phone. Face ID displays notification and messages on the lock screen when looking at the phone, therefore lights the screen and lowers the volume automatically.

You’ll be glad to know that Face ID data is encrypted and stored in a secured enclaved on your phone. Authentication is only effective on the phone, Face ID data are not stored anywhere in the cloud nor uploaded to Apple. Third Parties developers do not have access to the facial map that face IID requires to unlock the device.

There’s a 1 in 1,000,000 chances that someone might trick the Face, ID, research shows 1 in 500,000 with an alternate appearance registered with IOS 12. Face ID has been deceived by identical twins, carefully crafted mask. In spite of all of these, you don’t have to worry about your iPhone being unlocked easily by someone else.

Conclusion

You can’t go wrong with the superb screen design; the battery has the longest span among the iPhone models and a faster performance. The phone was made with the most durable front glass ever in a smartphone. Security is simplified if your face is your password, it’s the most secure facial authentication ever in a smartphone.

This cutting edge device provides the benefit of effortless high performance and comfort, thanks to an outstanding innovation. The secret behind this stunning device is the amazing design which provides much functionality with effortless power. The device offers an amazing feeling of comfort and control.
