iPhone 11 Review

The iPhone 11 was exposed to the world on the 10th of September 2019. It boasts of powerful features like the other iPhones.

The true tone adjusts the white balance to suit the ambient lighting and wide colour. The iPhone doesn’t come with the 3D touch just like the iPhone XR, but it uses the haptic touch which is supported by iOS 13. It lacks the pressure sensitivity of the 3D touch.

Design

It was carved out of a glass body that comes in six different colours.

The last two are the new colours introduced. The phone is almost the same as the XR. Apple claims it was carved out of the most durable glass ever in a smartphone. The durable glass comes with an improved water resistance (IP68) for more durability. The spatial audio offers an immersive sound experience and supports Dolby atmos.

The back comes with a new design most especially due to the new dual camera system. There’s a new square shape camera bump that flows into the rest of the device. The rear lenses protrude slightly from the back because the elements are thicker than the body of the phone. The logo can be found in the middle of the device something popular among previous phones.

The Glass is more durable

Apple is saying this is the most durable glass ever for any smartphone in other words a high level of resistance to accidents. It’s advisable to have a protector because it’s still a glass prone to breakages, both glasses at the front and the back uses a “dual ion – exchange process” for durability.

Water and Dust Resistance

The rate is IP68 water resistance, this is up from IP67 in the iPhone XR. It’ll survive up to two metres (6.5 feet) and about 30 minutes submersion in water. The IP68 water resistance means the phone can withstand splashes, rain and moderate accidental exposure. Intentional water exposure must be avoided at all cost. Liquid damage to IOS devices is not covered by Apple’s warranty.

It supports extended dynamic range when capturing video and the optical image stabilisation activates for video shots using the standard wide angle camera.

The audio zoom feature will match the audio to the video framing which produces a better sound when filming.

Quick Take

You’re able to record by holding down the shutter when in a photo mode with a new feature called quick mode. You’re able to capture a moment just switching from standard camera mode to video mode.
