Protect Your Eyesight with iPad’s Screen Distance

Staring at screens too closely can strain your eyes and even lead to poor eyesight, especially for younger users. iPad’s Screen Distance feature is here to help!

How it works:

  • Smart Detection: iPad’s True Depth camera keeps an eye on how close you’re holding it.
  • Gentle Reminders: If you’re too close for too long, you’ll get a friendly reminder to move back.

Why it matters:

  • Younger Users: Good viewing habits can help prevent myopia (nearsightedness).
  • All Users: Reduce eye strain and feel more comfortable.

Turn on Screen Distance:

  1. Open Settings: Tap the gear icon.
  2. Go to Screen Time: Find the clock icon.
  3. Activate Screen Distance: Toggle the switch on.

How it looks: When you get too close, a gentle alert will appear on the screen. Simply move iPad farther away to continue.
