Making FaceTime Calls on Your iPad
Getting Started:
- Internet Connection and Apple ID: Ensure you’re connected to the internet and signed in to your Apple ID.
- Set Up FaceTime: If you haven’t already, set up FaceTime on your iPad.
Making a FaceTime Call:
- Open the FaceTime App: Tap the FaceTime app icon.
- Start a New Call:
- Search for a Contact: Type the name or number of the person you want to call in the search bar.
- Choose Call Type: Tap the video camera icon for a video call or the audio icon for an audio call.
- Use Contacts: Tap the Contacts icon to select a contact from your list.
- Use Recent Calls: Tap a recent contact to quickly call them.
Making a Group FaceTime Call:
- Start a New Call: Follow the steps above to start a new FaceTime call.
- Add Participants: Tap the Add Person button and select additional contacts to add to the call.
Using Siri:
- Voice Command: Say “Make a FaceTime call to [name]” or “FaceTime [name]”.
Tips:
- Landscape Mode: Rotate your iPad for a larger viewing area during video calls.
- Video Messages: If your call goes unanswered, record a video message to send to the recipient.
- Voicemail: If the recipient has Live Voicemail enabled, you can leave a voicemail message.
- Call Again: Quickly call a recent contact by tapping “Call Again” or selecting them from your call history.
- FaceTime from Messages: Start a FaceTime call directly from an iMessage conversation.
Note: To use FaceTime on cellular networks (for iPad models with cellular capabilities), ensure Cellular Data is enabled for FaceTime in your Settings.
Remember: If you’ve removed the FaceTime app, you’ll need to re-download it to use FaceTime features.
