Insert Hyperlinks in Notes on iPad

The Notes app on your iPad offers a versatile way to insert links to webpages and connect to other notes. Here’s how:

Linking to a Webpage

  1. Open the Notes app on your iPad.
  2. Select the text where you want to insert the link.
  3. Tap “Add Link.”
  4. Enter the URL of the desired webpage.
  5. The selected text will now be a clickable link.

Alternatively:

  1. Place the cursor where you want the link.
  2. Tap “Add Link.”
  3. Enter the URL and optionally a custom link name.

Linking to Another Note

Using the Note Title:

  1. Place the cursor where you want the link.
  2. Tap “Add Link” or type “>>”.
  3. Enter the title of the target note.
  4. Select the note from the list or create a new one.

Using Custom Link Text:

  1. Select the desired link text.
  2. Tap “Add Link.”
  3. Enter the title of the target note.
  4. Select the note from the list.

Automatic Link Creation

The Notes app can automatically detect and convert text like addresses, phone numbers, dates, and more into clickable links. Simply tap on the underlined text to perform actions like:

  • Viewing an address in Maps
  • Composing an email
  • Making a phone call
  • Scheduling a calendar event
  • Converting units and currency

Note: Automatic link creation is available when your iPad’s system language is set to a compatible language. Check the iOS and iPadOS Feature Availability website for more details.
