Answering a FaceTime Call

When a FaceTime call comes in, you’ll see an incoming call notification. You can:

  • Answer the call: Drag the slider to the right or tap “Accept” or “Join.”
  • Decline the call: Tap “Decline” or the red decline button.
  • Schedule a call back: Tap “Remind Me.”
  • Send a message to the caller: Tap “Message.”

If you’re already on a call when a new FaceTime call comes in, you’ll see an “End & Accept” option. Tapping this will end your current call and connect you to the new one.

Tip: You can enable Siri to announce incoming calls, allowing you to answer or decline them with voice commands.

Listening to Video or Audio Messages

  • Missed Video Calls: If someone leaves a video message, you’ll receive a notification. Tap the notification to view the message. You can also find the video message link in your call history, below the missed call entry.
  • Missed Audio Calls: If you have Live Voicemail enabled on your iPhone (with the same Apple ID as your iPad), callers can leave voicemail messages when you miss their calls.

Note: To receive video messages, the caller must be a saved contact, someone you’ve called, or someone suggested by Siri.

  1. Open the FaceTime app.
  2. Swipe left on the call you want to delete.
  3. Tap the “Delete” button.

If you’re concerned about potential speech loss or have a speech disability, you can create a personalized voice on your iPad. This voice can be used with Live Speech to help you communicate effectively in various situations, including FaceTime calls and assistive communication apps.

Here’s how to create your Personal Voice:

  1. Go to Settings: Open the Settings app on your iPad.
  2. Access Accessibility: Navigate to the Accessibility settings.
  3. Create a Personal Voice: Tap on “Create a Personal Voice” and follow the on-screen instructions.

Note:

  • To pause and resume the recording process, tap “Done” and then “Continue Recording.”
  • You’ll need to set a passcode on your iPad to access the Personal Voice creation option.

Your Personal Voice, Your Privacy: Your personalized voice is securely stored on your iPad and can be used for:
